Flotilla 53 Meetings are on the 4th Monday of each Month (except Nov. & Dec.)

Flotilla 53 Goals for 2010:

Aids to Navigation: Continue to support the Coast Guard by participating in ATON patrols

Communications: Keep the flotilla informed of all changes in communication information and assist members who desire to be qualified as watchstanders 

Finance: Keep the flotilla notified of our financial holdings along with any changes 

Information Services: Forward all time reporting forms to Division and assist members to keep all forms accurate, assist with Aux Info questions

Program Visitor: Meet and exceed our number of marine dealers serviced and qualify more members for the position 

Materials: Order supplies for members when requested 

Member Training: Assist members in finding classes to enhance their qualifications and keeping current in their present qualifications 

Computer Services: Update flotilla website as needed 

Personnel Services: Retain membership and promote recruitment. Assign mentors for new members and encourage all members to help with mentoring in their area of experience

Operations: Continue to be active in all missions and assist with keeping members current in operational qualifications 

Public Affairs: Meet and exceed the number on PA booths from last year and promote new membership at these booths

Public Education: Offer Public educations classes whenever possible and promote recruiting for new members at these classes 

Vessel Examinations: Meet and exceed VE days from last year and assist new members to become qualified examiners 

Publications: Keep members informed of ongoing activities and update member roster as needed     

Please be sure to read your emails that come down the chain to keep up with the latest on the Gulf Oil Spill and how to volunteer for duty if you are qualified.

Hours: Monday 1800 to 2100 hours   and first 3 Saturdays monthly 0900 to 1400 hours.

 Closed 4th & 5th (if applicable) Saturday each month

Award of Presidential Unit Citation.

On May 25, 2006, at the Commandants Change of Command Ceremony, President Bush presented the Presidential Unit Citation (puc) to the U.S. Coast Guard for meritorious achievement and outstanding performance in action from August 29 to September 13, 2005, in preparation for, and response and recovery to devastation wrought by hurricane Katrina. This award will apply to all of Team Coast Guard since the response to Katrina was an all-hands effort.
